Jodie here.

I'm a big ol' enthusiast of looking at something and deciding "Oh, I'd like to try and make that". Been weaving coil baskets off and on since 2009 where I was taught by my professor, Tari Kerss, in the twilight years of Edinboro's fiber arts program. Before then, I hadn't had any kind of interest in fiber arts outside of a failed attempt here and there at crochet. But Professor Kerss had passion and mettle and an absolute love for the art in her soft voice and her careful demonstrations. And it kept me in focus and built my confidence during the course of that semester.

In the years since, I created a lot of baskets for friends and family. Many of these are what appear here in this gallery. When I'm not making baskets, I'm probably looking up tutorials online to learn how to do something else new and different or returning to something I've done before. Sometimes I write. Sometimes I work with fuse beads. Sometimes I sew or knit or work on cosplay or- whatever it is I'm feeling up to in the moment. Jack of many trades.

Otherwise flying by the seat of my pants until I inevitably burn out for a few months.
